Barbara Turner, PhD, author of The Handbook of Sandplay Therapy, the definitive text of Jungian sandplay, has announced intensive sandplay training sessions to be held in March and August of 2011 in the Northern California Wine Country. Sandplay I…. an intensive study of Jungian sandplay therapy. The training begins with a thorough 21-hour Introduction to Sandplay. This encompasses the foundations, origins, the primary theoretical principles supporting sandplay as a therapeutic modality, as well as practical considerations in the practice of sandplay. Following are content-specific learning units, focusing in depth on the many aspects of sandplay work. Participants are invited to present sandplay case material from their practices for study, applying the principles learned during the course.
This play therapy training meets and exceeds, all curriculum requirements specified by the Sandplay Therapists of America for the Practitioner of Sandplay Therapy status.

Sandplay II… continues the study of Jungian sandplay therapy, exploring in-depth, the therapist’s role in forming a sincere, and transformative relationship with the client’s sandplay process. Content areas consider underlying theoretical structures and patterns of sandplay process, and the integral and essential function of the quality of the presence of the sandplay therapist in the client’s work. Participants are invited to present sandplay case material from their practices for study, applying the principles learned during the course.
This play therapy training – Sandplay I & II - meets the curriculum and training requirements specified by the Sandplay Therapists of America for the Certified Sandplay Therapist status, less 10 hours acquired in other venues.
